Silk sheet sets in wonderfully luxurious habutai silk. Habutai refers to the “criss-cross” weaving technique that creates the unique look and feel of these pure silk sheets. These sheets have a delicate peach-like texture and a softness that is additionally enhanced by a gentle sand washing process. These pure silk habutai sheets are seamless and finished with a 4” decorative hem. The pillowcases incorporate a generous French envelope style, which covers the pillow at the open end. All sheets are seamless. The fitted sheet has deep pockets to accommodate mattresses up to 17" deep and reinforced elastic throughout to ensure a proper fit. The momme is 15.
Set includes one flat, one fitted and two pillowcases. Flat measures 108" X 110", fitted measures 78" X 81" X 15" and pillowcases measure 21" X 40".
Care Instructions: These are general care guidelines for silk. Please refer to specific care instructions on each label.
Hand Wash: All Empress Silk duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases and apparel are washable. The preferred method is hand laundered in lukewarm water with pH neutral soap using a gentle hand movement. We do not recommend Woolite for silk. We suggest Charlie's Soap (at bottom of this page) or a similar pH netural, silk friendly soap. Do not soak too long. Rinse in cool water and roll silk in a towel to remove excess water. Never wring water from silk.
Machine Wash: Larger items can be machine washed. Wash in cold water with pH neutral soap, no bleach, on a gentle cycle. Wash silk separate from other items and do not overload washer to avoid any unnecessary wear to the fabric. Silk dries quickly. Tumble dry on very low heat for a short time only if necessary.
Ironing: Silk has a resistance to creasing or wrinkling, most will smooth out naturally. If ironing should become necessary, press the damp silk on the reverse side with an iron set on low. Silk charmeuse (satin) requires a cool iron to bring back sheen.
