Prairie Rugs are the worlds finest cotton area rugs. They are hand woven in India exclusively for Prairie Rugs by village artisans. The handloom process means that each rug will have a slight variation; this is the charm of the handicraft. All finished products are subject to total quality control to ensure integrity and longevity.
Prairie Rugs are made from recycled (pre-consumer) cotton rags acquired from textile mills in India. Prairie rugs are heavy weight so they lay flat and do not bunch up. They are made with high-grade cotton that gives the rugs a beautiful variation in color. The rugs are stylishly finished with end fringe. Prairie Rugs use the highest quality low impact organic European dyes to ensure vibrant solid colors. The rugs are triple washed after dyeing to prevent color transfer. During the weaving process a high-grade cotton warp is used to increase the longevity of the rugs. The rugs are made with 30% more warp than other rugs, which provides a tight weave. All Prairie Rugs are machine washable in cold water. They can also be dry cleaned. Prairie rugs are manufactured in India.
Prairie Rugs are part of the Sustainable Furniture Council, a non-profit industry association committed to promoting sustainable practices in the Home Furnishings business.
No child labor is used to make the Prairie Rugs. Prairie Rugs provides safe and pleasant working conditions.
Prairie Rugs are available in 10 solid colors: Brick, Cobalt Blue, Desert, Cool Mint, Gold, Natural, Olive, Red, Aqua Marine, and Coffee.
